Who We Are

Almost Home Outreach Foundation exists to bridge the gap between immediate need and long-term stability.

Through direct outreach, we meet people exactly where they are—providing food, clothing, hygiene supplies, practical support, and most importantly, human connection. We show up consistently, get to know the person behind the circumstances, and build relationships rooted in dignity and trust.

As trust grows, we listen. What do they need right now? What would they want for themselves if life could look different? Then, when they’re ready, we help connect those answers to real opportunities, resources, employment, and a path forward.

We don’t decide what someone’s future should look like.
We show up, listen, believe them—and help them build it.

Direct Community Outreach

We regularly engage with individuals living outdoors, in vehicles, or in temporary situations — providing nourishment, basic supplies, and a safe, judgment-free presence. At Almost Home, we believe community is built one conversation, one meal, and one moment of humanity at a time.

We may never fully know the impact a simple interaction has on someone. But from my own lived experience, I know this: when a face from “the other side” becomes a familiar face—and that familiar face keeps showing up—something begins to change.

Familiarity becomes consistency. Consistency becomes trust.

And beautiful things can be built from trust.

Sometimes, simply showing up again is where it all begins.

Relationship-Centered Support

We meet people exactly where they are—not where we think they should be. We take the time to know them, listen to what they need today, and eventually ask a different question: If life didn’t have to look like this, what would you want it to look like?

The answers are different for everyone. Some have a dream they’ve never said out loud. Some stopped believing their goals were possible a long time ago. Some have never even allowed themselves to imagine something different.

And sometimes, a person already knows exactly what they want—they just need one person to believe them when they say it.

I know that from lived experience. Sometimes the difference between a dream you laugh off and a future you begin fighting for is having one person look at you and say, “I believe you. Let’s figure out how to get there.”

Advocacy & Awareness

By sharing real experiences and stories—with dignity and consent—we help communities understand homelessness beyond the stereotypes.We also build relationships with local businesses, learning about their needs and identifying employers willing to offer opportunities to individuals who may face barriers to employment, including a criminal record. When someone has been vetted and referred by Almost Home, we don’t simply make an introduction and walk away.

We stay involved.

Our goal is to provide employers with an added layer of support and accountability—essentially, **“If there’s a problem, call us. If they don’t show up, we show up.”**Because sometimes a second chance works best when neither side has to take it alone.

Homelessness is not just the absence of housing—it can also mean losing safety, connection, opportunity, and the belief that life can look different.

We believe change begins with connection. We show up consistently, learn someone’s name, hear their story, and build the kind of trust that allows people to tell us what they actually need—and what they want for themselves.

At Almost Home, we believe people are more than their circumstances, and sometimes the first step toward something different is simply having someone believe that something different is possible.
